All of Hannah's designs were originally created by sewing onto old sea charts, and they feature a range of coastal locations, lighthouses, seabirds and sea life.

The tea towels are proudly handmade in the UK from 100% cotton, and measure about 43x72cm (sizes vary a bit as they are made by hand).

Shipping Forecast is a celebration of our wonderful marine wildlife and also of the iconic shipping forecast with its melodic tones which always take me back to my childhood when Dad would listen to it religiously. This is a huge one, created by sewing fabric scraps onto a full size chart. Definitely a bit of a wrangle to get that through my sewing machine at times!
Hannah says - My original textile artworks are created in my Plymouth, Devon studio, using rescued and recycled fabrics sewn onto old discarded admiralty charts. My works show wildlife, history and culture, and the charts add context, providing an immediate linkage to the environment of the subject. The charts bring their own history to the piece, and I love how their scars and blemishes add an extra layer of interest to the work.
