Leader: Jayne Burton
Duration: 2 hours - the start time is stated alongside the date
Venue: Coastal Craft Collective, 10 Marine Place, Seaton, Devon, EX12 2QL
Suitable for adults and children ages 12+.
Tie Dyeing is the art of resist dyeing by folding, twisting, clamping and tying fabric before adding to the dye to give amazing patterns and shapes. You will be using 2-3 colours for each piece you dye.
All dyes and equipment are included.
The workshop price includes dying 3 items from a selection that will be available on the day. They are likely to include T-shirts, tea towels and tote bags.
You are welcome to bring your own plain (non patterned) items to dye - a maximum of two. Natural plain cotton or linen fabric works best. Please ensure the items are washed first especially if new, to remove any dressing or marks.
We suggest you bring an apron and / or wear clothes/shoes you don’t mind getting dye splashes on. We have painting shirts available for you to use if you want to.
It's helpful if you can bring a small to medium sized plastic bag to take your items away with you.
Jayne is happy to run her sessions with 4 people or more. If less places are booked, we will cancel the session. If this happens, we'll offer the people who've booked the class a place on an alternative day, a credit for another workshop or a full refund, whichever they prefer.
About Jayne
I am a textile designer working from my small studio in Dorset, with a passion for fabrics both vintage and new. I am particularly interested in producing designs with Cyanotypes and using Indian wooden printing blocks to design, dye, print and produce textiles and papers.
