A one day workshop suitable for those who already have some experience or are new to making stained glass. You may have some experience of cutting, grinding and soldering stained glass either from a previous workshop at Coastal Craft Collective or elsewhere or if this is your first time you will be taught these basic techniques.
Design and make a beautiful wreath using Stained Glass and tinned copper wire. In this class you will improve your stained glass technique by making a range of small decorative shapes out of glass and you will learn how to include tinned copper wire to add pretty embellishments to your piece. A choice of patterns will be available and you can choose from a range of gorgeous textured coloured glass to make your design. All materials will be provided.
The workshop demands dexterity and strength in your hands.
Suitable for people aged 16+.
We recommend that you do not attend the course if you are currently pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. This is due to the toxicity of lead which may be in use in the studio.
There will be a lunch break. Lunch is not provided. We have a fridge, microwave and kettle. You are welcome to bring your own food or visit one of the great cafes or takeaways in Seaton.
Sue is happy to run her classes with 2 or more people. If we only get one booking, we'll cancel the session. We will offer the person who has booked a place on an alternative day or a full refund, whichever they prefer.
Sue also runs a half day taster stained glass class - a shorter, lower cost session.

"I'm Sue and I live in Lyme Regis. I was always fascinated by stained glass and so I did a couple of taster courses in Bristol a few years ago followed by a Night School course at Strode College in Street. I then bought a starter kit and started making stained glass from home gradually improving my technique. I most enjoy using the "Tiffany" copper foil method of making stained glass as this allows you to make pieces of all shapes and sizes and doesn't take up too much space! I love every single piece that I make and each piece is unique.
