Handmade Fused Glass
This vibrant and frothy glass panel was designed in 2019, it illustrates the sea coming on to the beach as a close up with the seabed on the top and froth in the middle using low relief and colours to accentuate the motion of the sea and create a dramatic effect. Some parts of the panel are slightly translucent and sandblasted. The sea is in shades of light blues and turquoises, the front of the panel is textured.
The frame is 60x30cm - 23 1/2"x12" | Glass Art 50x20cm - 19 1/2x8" . The front of the panel is textured and the back is smooth.
Please be aware that due to the handmade process, each product is uniquely different so you can expect a slight variation in size, glass tint/colour and texture. After completing his degree in Glass in 2002, Matthew worked for a large glass design company in London before setting up his own business in 2012. Matthew designs and makes everything in his studio in Dorset, on the south coast of the UK, near the Jurassic Coast. All the moulds are handcarved, he applies the colours manually and the glass is slumped over the mould in a kiln at temperatures over 800C and annealed to ensure strength and durability.
