Cyanotype is a photographic process using UV light to expose the prints. You can use seed heads, flowers, leaves or cut out shapes to lay on treated papers before exposing it to the UV light.
Jayne will supply all of the materials you need including a selection of dried flowers and seed heads for your use.
You are encouraged to bring a selection of suitable materials to experiment with, such as leaves, grasses, seed heads - dried or fresh - or even lace. Flowers, ferns and seeds heads make excellent prints, so press these between kitchen roll or newspaper under some heavy books for several days before use.
You will be making 3 or 4 x A6 size prints plus one larger A4 size print. Additional papers are available at cost if required. In addition, and if there is time, you will be able to treat, dry and use 2 x A6 sheets of paper.
Please bring an apron or wear suitable clothing in case of any splashes.
If the day is overcast with low UV levels, I have a UV lamp to use indoors.
Suitable for ages 14+
Jayne is happy to run her sessions with 3 people or more. If less than 3 people book, we will cancel the session. If this happens, we'll offer the people who have booked the class a place on an alternative day, a credit for another workshop or a full refund, whichever they prefer.
We sell a range of Jayne's Cyanotype canvas prints and cards.
