Get in the Christmas spirit with us and make a Christmas stained glass window or tree hanging.

Whether you have had a go at stained glass in the past or not you can come and learn all the techniques for making copper foiled stained glass These include cutting glass, grinding the edges smooth, copper foiling and soldering. You’ll practice this first of all on some plain glass and then get to choose from a range of beautiful coloured textured glass to make your finished piece.

There will be a selection of templates for you to choose from including angels, robins, Christmas trees and stars as well as others. The picture shows what people have made on previous workshops. If you prefer not to make a Christmas decoration, we'll have other templates available.

A great way to try something new and make a lasting decoration for your home or Christmas Tree

This workshop requires strength and dexterity in your hands.

Suitable for age 16+

The solder used in stained glass contains lead. If you are pregnant you may want to check with your Doctor before booking this course

Sue is happy to run her classes with 2 or more people. If we only get one booking, we'll cancel the session. We will offer the person who has booked a place on an alternative day or a full refund, whichever they prefer.

Sue also runs a one day Tiffany Style stained glass class. It's suitable for beginners and those with some experience. There's also a follow on, next steps stained glass for those who have learnt the basics and want to learn more and improve their skills.

As well as stained glass courses, Sue leads our Sea Glass Jewellery classes.

"I'm Sue and I live in Lyme Regis. I was always fascinated by stained glass and so I did a couple of taster courses in Bristol a few years ago followed by a Night School course at Strode College in Street. I then bought a starter kit and started making stained glass from home gradually improving my technique. I most enjoy using the "Tiffany" copper foil method of making stained glass as this allows you to make pieces of all shapes and sizes and doesn't take up too much space! I love every single piece that I make and each piece is unique.

If you'd prefer to buy stained glass decorations, we have a lovely selection available in our shop and on our website. They include Sue's work as well as that of the Devon Glass Studio.
