Sew a Felt Needle Case - 28/2
Leader: Gillian Beckman-Findlay
Duration: 2 to 5pm
Venue: Coastal Craft Collective, 10 Marine Place, Seaton, Devon, EX12 2QL
I absolutely love working with felt! This is an easy and very enjoyable little make.
The felt needle case will consist of a cover (which will be two layers of felt) with 10 pages (made of single layers of felt). You will attach little needle inserts to the pages.
Using my Sizzix Big Shot Plus cutting machine you will cut and decorate the front of the case with felt shapes - flowers, animals, hearts ....... the choice is endless!!! You can then further embellish the needle case with embroidery stitches. Instruction will be given if required. The cases will be fitted with a hanging loop and a button and loop to keep the needle case secured.
The felt will be available in a myriad of colours and you can use either embroidery silk, or my preferred option Perle 8 cotton, for the embroidery.
I have both of these in a very large selection of colours too.
This workshop will be predominantly using hand stitching. We will only use a sewing machine very briefly. There is no need to bring in a sewing machine as we will be using the shop machines for this.
